Paid Internship Program

Your compensation ranges from $18 to $20 per hour, depending on your level of experience. You will work closely with the events team to assist in planning, coordinating, and executing various events hosted by the organization, ensuring that each event is visually appealing and aligned with the organization's mission and branding. Requirements

Currently enrolled in an educational institution for event design and styling or a related field.
Previous experience or coursework in event planning, decor design, visual merchandising, or nonprofit management is preferred but not required.
Creativity and a keen eye for design, with the ability to conceptualize and execute visually stunning event decor arrangements.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with design software or tools is a plus.

Responsibility

Collaborate with the events team to develop event decor concepts, themes, and design plans that reflect the organization's mission and objectives.
Assist in sourcing and acquiring event decor items, including linens, centerpieces, floral arrangements, props, signage, and other decorative elements.
Help set up and decorate event spaces according to design plans and timelines, ensuring that all decor elements are arranged and displayed effectively.
Assist in coordinating with vendors, suppliers, and volunteers involved in providing event decor and design services.
Support the creation of mood boards, sketches, and visual mock-ups to communicate event decor concepts and designs.
Assist in managing event decor budgets and expenses, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality and creativity.
Provide input and suggestions for enhancing the visual appeal of events and improving the overall guest experience.
Collaborate with other event staff to ensure seamless integration of decor elements with event logistics, audiovisual setups, and catering services.
Provide on-site support during events, assisting with decor adjustments, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that decor arrangements meet quality standards.
Assist in post-event breakdown and cleanup, ensuring that decor items are properly stored, returned, or disposed of as needed.

We were able to find other free event decorating courses; however, they would give you only a few minutes or section of free access to their course and then they want you to pay to access the remaining portion. But that is not the case with their free course offer. As a student, you will have access to the same course curriculum and online training platform.

2. Subsidized Federal Direct Loan

It carries a fixed interest rate. The federal government pays the interest on the loan while you are at school and during your six month grace period after leaving school. Eligibility is based on need. Loans must be paid back.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a form that students in the United States fill out annually to determine their eligibility for federal student financial aid, which includes grants, work-study opportunities, and loans. What will be my main responsibilities as an intern?
As an intern, you will assist the events team in developing design concepts, sourcing decor items, preparing design sketches, assisting in on-site setup and installation, and performing administrative tasks related to event staging and decorating.
